Towards the end of March, Polyphony Digital promised some major changes to Gran Turismo 7's in-game economy to better balance out rewards. The first of these updates was promised for April, and the latest patch — version 1.11 — is now available for PlayStation 5 and PS4. So, what's changed?
Well, looking through the official patch notes, the biggest change is that in-game Credit rewards for completing events have been increased. In several key parts of the campaign, you can now earn more Credits through normal play, making the grind far less tedious. There are also some new events introduced under the banner 'The Human Comedy'. These are one-hour long endurance races for those with a Collector's Level of at least 23. The payout for these races can go up to 1.2 million Credits. It's also worth noting that the cap on the maximum number of Credits has been raised to 100 million, making it much easier to save up.
Elsewhere, more vehicles will be presented at any one time when browsing Used Cars and Legendary Cars, physics for off-road events have been tweaked, and some visual improvements have been made to smoke and debris. There's a lot included in this patch, as you can see in the full patch notes below. Are you happy with these changes to Gran Turismo 7? Let us know in the comments section below.

Very nice.
I haven't had a problem with credits since they gave us the free 1,000,000 that time (I just started playing the day before), but this will be very nice.
Going to buy so many parts and spend half of Saturday tweaking cars.
Id like to see some more standard races and championships introduced in to the game. Im not keen on the challenges where you have to use a specific car they choose for you.
Add in some FF, FR, MR and 4WD championships and were golden.
Good to see the post release support tho.
I got the special edition and was late to the party but also got the bonus 1m. I’ve played for. 5 hours - I have 45 cars and 2.5million in the bank. Reading all the reports before sounded like you never got cars and money was hard to come by. I have a relatively expensive Ferrari and a McClaren plus plenty of nice high end cars won from just playing.
I welcome these changes but the issues I have from this game are not winning cars or the money pay outs.
Hopefully this update somehow makes Moby Dick Mission 7 “Overtaking in a mixed class race” doable for me damn thing is driving me nuts. Had an easier time passing S10 license finale.
@Stocksy Must have been one of those, once in a blue moon times, that the internet got a bit hyperbolic over something. Haha.
Most people who actually played the game had a stack of cash and plenty of cars and never felt the need to “purchase” credits.
Amazing game.
@SoulChimera @Stocksy I started playing after the patch that turned everyone against the game.
I had no problems with it. I didn't even know where the option to buy credits was until a few days ago when I went looking out of curiosity.
The game is outstanding.
@Stocksy you know how this is in current times with social media.
For more than 24 hrs the game was offline and not playable & credits you earn for races were decreased -> running trough the social media buff = game is a total disaster, worst racing game ever, you never get cars, you earn no credits in the game, it’s a whole mess and Sony betrayed all players…
Truth is: Game is great since the beginning, some flaws are fixed with patches.
@Reeneman i agree. Sure, it wasnt ideal and the always online thing has been explained. The expression mountains out of mole hills comes to mind.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Thanks to social media, everyone wants to be entitled to be outraged at anything which is actually not much of anything - feelings, perception, suspected infractions, conspiracies, stuff-they-heard-online. Keyboard warriors unite to attack. Everyone does a virtual Will Smith.
And it will only get worse so just enjoy what you enjoy and forget about the rest.
On "always online" GT sport was essentially the same deal, so I don't know why this was new outrage.
Despite all the controversy, this is a game I want to pick up at some point. Really happy to see them addressing the rally cross physics be interest to see them post patch. the only real part of the game i was like wow this is bad but knew they would address it.
Still need a pre race weather forecast adding in.
This is a step in the right direction!
Will come back to the game soon
I'd love to see a few more championships added. It's not like there's a shortage of motors or racetracks to make it happen.
Terrific game though. One I'll dip in and out of for many years to come.
Over a month after release and still no one has the plat. And here I thought it would be easier since it didn't require multiplayer wins.
@Kairu its not mate. In some of the 5 lap races where it starts out dry then turns to rain you dont know what tyres to go with as there is no predicted weather and it doesn't let you do a pit stop. Obvioustly if i knew there was a possibility of rain i would race with the intermediate tyres to accommodate both weather types instead of soft tyres which are uncontrollable in wet conditions. The ammount of races ive had to restart due to speradic weather changes is crazy.
Great to see GT7 back on track, personally I couldn't be happier with it. Will people change their metacritic scores?.... No chance.
@Kairu it does help in knowing when its going to rain but that can still be a few laps in before the radar shows anything so a quit, change tyres and restart is still in order. Even then it may not rain after the reset so now your racing on intermediate tyres with no rain at all. For a game that boasts adaptable weather the lack of knowing the upcoming weather is a massive miss. Its literally pot luck if you have the right tyres fitted.
The patches and response to player feedback has me interested in buying the game again. But first I have to play Cyberpunk 2077. 😂 I have a whole catalogue of games that I have which made a huge 180 turn to patch or fix something the masses protested about (No Man’s Sky, Returnal, Battlefront 2, Days Gone…), so maybe I need to add GT7 to the list.
@Reeneman @Shepherd_Tallon @SoulChimera true. I will say I have serious issues with many aspects of the game. It’s still a very very good game. It’s just not the GOAT and it really could be.
At times it simply isn’t exciting. It’s fun and it’s impressive. Its just held back by stupid design decisions.
That being said the grind isn’t one of them.
It just feels dated in format and design and the chase the rabbit races get a bit boring.
I’m still loving it. I’m just a believer in balance and not just praising when there is plenty of room for improvement
Now I can finally gain enough credits in a simple manner to afford that $18,000,000 credit Porsche 917k I want. So happy I'll be able to see my wife and kids again <3
I curse this game!
It’s so dam playable It’s cost me a fortune as I’ve now splashed out on a steering wheel. Pedals and a shifter to go on a sim stand!
@Stocksy that’s true. The rabbit races are something that I don’t really understand. Why not having a qualifying and then a regular race with a regular start. It Dienst have to be that way in every race but at least for the larger and more professional races in the career mode.
Have to think back on DTM Race Driver (at least in Germany, Toca Race Driver was it in other countries) where this was so much fun.
I love this game great graphics plays great .... however I don't like the Cafe mode where most of the single player park of the game is. I have finished it but it was so short that I was very disappointed. Many people complained that the single player content in Sport was not enough yet I struggled to get anywhere near finishing it. I do hope they add more single player races but please please not true the Cafe mode .
I'm still hoping they patch this game to be playable offline but I'm not holding my breath tbh. I mean it could happen but it's unlikely it will be anytime soon.
@whitejessegpfc go into the event, start it then quit. Back out to mission page and enter again. I did that and the cars were closer together and I overtook them all before the first hairpin
Great update,gt7 is a fantastic driving/racing game ,and its only gonna get better from here on in ,big thanks to kaz and his passionate team for this, its not perfect ,but certainly not far away,I can't comment on ps4/pro versions but on ps5 it's simply stunning , great time to be a gamer
Still won't change the fact that staff in CEX are tripping over, there are so many copies of this being traded. Most of them new and sealed
@Jayslow did you forget the gt5 plat? If people thought this would be easy they are very mistaken.
1. In my two roulette spins from daily marathons, I received cars — so it's already an improvement that had previously netted the least valuable reward nearly 100% of the time.
2. Still want to see weather conditions prior to going into a race; it's kind of useful information to know going into a race...
3. Interested if they programmed the 'dials' on the V2 wheel to adjust MFD settings...
4. Really want PD to consider taking the single-player campaign offline, but know that is a pipe dream, so kind of is what it is...
5. Really nice update. Let's keep it going.
All you people that love to grind don't worry they'll nerf it again in subsequent mandatory patches
@Kidfunkadelic83 the always online thing hasn't been explained at all the fia thing is an excuse asif it was impossible for them to split up single player & competitive online multiplayer
@Would_you_kindly Unless you work for either Sony, PD or FIA and know something everyone else doesnt then im more inclined to believe their explanation over you, sorry. The constant online doesnt bother me 1 jot anyway so i didnt need the explanation in the first place.
Amazing game, finished the Menu book a couple of days ago, only used my credits to get I think 3 cars (mainly spent bits and bobs on tuning) .
Without even the free 1 million I have over 4 million earned credits. What happened the other week was an absolutely crazy over reaction, it went off for a day, big deal. Its the best Gran Turismo yet.
@MinerWilly
I think maybe it wasn’t so much of a overreaction tbf it would have been however if we was warned it would be off for a day. I mean sure poly couldn’t predict the update would cause such issues but they did leave it almost 24hours without a update on when the game would be back online ect. Furthermore I think personally it shouldn’t be online only it creates to many issues. I don’t blame people for raging over a game that’s £50+ that is unplayable at anytime tbh. Some fans it’s the only part of there day they look forwards too after a long day at work or when there kids finally settle for the night, so many reasons why people play games is too block out reality and get there head into something else other then the outside problems. So no wonder when it’s unplayable people rage. I get your point completely but it’s just the small details that make a difference. It’s not just a game to some it’s an escape.
